What is veterinary laser therapy?

The therapeutic laser uses an intense beam of light to penetrate areas of the body that have experienced injury, trauma or chronic pain. When the laser comes into contact with the target area, the body responds by increasing blood flow and releasing natural healing and pain control hormones. Laser therapy is a noninvasive way to improve the healing process by accelerating tissue repair, improving circulation, and reducing inflammation. This promotes faster healing and reduces scarring.

Laser therapy is a particularly attractive option for animals that may be sensitive to medication, because it is completely drug-free and non-invasive.

What can laser therapy be used to treat?

This breakthrough technology utilizes non-invasive therapy to which many conditions readily respond, making it an ideal complementary treatment. Successful results have been achieved in a variety of conditions and can be used to help manage any of the following:
  • Arthritis
  • Hip Dysplasia
  • Wound Healing
  • Dental Procedures
  • Sprains, Strains and Fractures
  • Bruising and Swelling
  • Post-Surgical Healing and Pain Management
  • Ear and Skin Infections
  • Inflammation Caused by Allergies
  • Hot Spots and Lick Granulomas
  • Much More…

What can I expect if I bring my pet in for laser therapy?

Our laser treatments are delivered in a quiet, comfortable environment where your pet will feel safe and at ease. Laser therapy does not cause any pain, so you needn’t worry about whether your loved one will be uncomfortable during a treatment session. In fact, the process can be quite relaxing – so much so that some animals have been known to take a peaceful nap during a session.

Treatment programs are tailored to each individual pet’s medical condition. The number and frequency of treatments will be based on your pet’s needs and response. Our professionally trained staff will customize a treatment plan specifically for your companion. Most treatments take only minutes to complete, yet results can often be seen almost immediately.
