Did you know that kitties are plotting to take over the world? June 24th is Cat World Domination Day! This may seem farfetched, but it may actually be possible. After all, Fluffy did convince the ancient Egyptians that she was a deity. The fact that cats have also more or less taken over the internet is also suspicious. What do our feline overlords have in store for us? Here, a local Scottsdale, AZ vet offers some guesses on how things would change if Fluffy were in charge.
Lap Time Laws
Have you ever had to get up when your furry little buddy was sleeping on your lap? Fluffy may have protested this transgression with a cute little meow. Disturbing a sleeping furball may very well become illegal if cats ruled the world!
It’s probably safe to say that, if our feline pals took over the world, every house would be required to have at least a few catnip plants growing outdoors. Fluffy may also insist on smaller windowsill pots.
Cats would likely waste no time in legislating some very specific housing requirements. Everyone owned by a furball would be required to have at least one cat tower, a catio, and a minimum of two napping spots in every room. Fluffy may also demand catwalks and kitty tents. We wouldn’t be surprised if our furry rulers also expected us to put comfy kitty window seats in every room, all with views of birdfeeders or meadows.
While some cats are best friends with their canine roommates, this isn’t always the case. In fact, Fido and Fluffy have had a fairly tumultuous relationship over the years. We suspect that Man’s Best Friend would quickly be banished to the doghouse if kitties took over the world.
Cats love fishing! Fluffy may want fountains made just for her, and stocked with fish for her to catch? This may very well become a law if kitties take over!
At the end of the day, a kitty takeover may actually not be that bad. We suspect that Fluffy would make it mandatory to spend several hours a day petting, snuggling, and playing with her.
